The Situation
A retired civil servant in Kuala Lumpur passed away without a will. The estate included a freehold property, EPF savings, and several bank accounts. Four adult children and a surviving spouse were involved, each with different views on how the estate should be handled.
Our Approach
We applied for letters of administration, coordinated with EPF and the relevant bank, and prepared a clear distribution schedule under the Distribution Act 1958. We communicated separately with each beneficiary as needed and presented a joint update at key milestones to keep the family aligned.
